I was on the hunt one day on my GoodReads account and happen to have came across the Hacker Series! I was instantly hooked after the first few chapters.

I loved that there was dimension to the characters and that Erica wasn't your typical submissive. She had her own rules and wouldn't stray from speaking her mind. She did her best to remain independent while starting up her own business even tho Blake Landon was a millionaire and would give her whatever her heart desired.

With that being said.. There was NOT a lack of sexual escapades Still found myself blushing but not embarrassed. This was a great read! The book read well and did not seem to be drug out! Nov 01, Ramona rated it really liked it Shelves: Well, that's more like it: D I hate to admit that my first meeting with the "Hacker" series was not extremely fortunate, because I thought something was definitely missing, but after reading the second book I've decided to continue giving the series a try, because after the events from this one, it began to grow on me.

I loved the way the plot progressed a Well, that's more like it: I loved the way the plot progressed and even if there were some soup opera-ish scenes, it was better than the first book. With this unique trademarks, their relationship is intense and confusing, because one moment they are happy and the next they are screaming at each other. Now that Erica managed to get the funding necessary for her business, Clozpin, everything seems back on track, but ghosts from the past will enter her life and threaten everything she loves.

It will be up to her to take a decision and try to protect her loved ones, even making sacrifices on the way. It sound like a soap opera right? It had it moments, but they were OK Erica is still not my favorite, because she tends to over-analyze so many things, making them more complicated and turning everything into a drama.

There will be a part in this book were she will have to take an unwanted decision, but from my POV it was not necessary. She is used of handling things alone and tends to leave Blake aside, but she has to learn to trust him and decide things as a couple. She says she is not used to be told around, but she has that tendency of keeping certain things for her and I didn't like it, especially having Blake by her side, who will do anything to protect and keep her out of harm's way. Her trust issues are her worst flow and will determine a lot of drama in this book.

Blake is still the central piece of the book, even if the plot might annoy you sometimes, you will love him no matter what. Even with his dominant tendencies and control issues, he is still breathtaking and a total alfa male. I really liked him and consider him a very powerful character, that definitely stands out VS other heroes from books of this genre. He is more straightforward than Erica, even if he has a past of his own, I could read him better and understand his motives better than Erica's.

Don't get me wrong, Blake has his fare share of complexity, but he is more lovable that the heroine because he has something else, feels completely different.

Hard Pressed

As a reader I could totally see the different between the first book and this one. It was more mature, even if Erica has a lot of growing up to do, but our couple is stronger and even if the road so far has been hard, they love each other do death. You are really impacted by their feelings and connection and I believe it is one of the most important aspects from this book to take with you in the next chapter. I really think you will like this one and be more eager to start book 3: Meredith Wild The Hacker series is my new favorite series! I read both books and both were amazing!

I am one of the many that read 50 Shades and The Crossfire series. Neither compare to Hardwired or Hardpressed. I love that Meredith added all kinds of elements to her books, there was of course the smut, but there was also, suspense and moments where I felt like I was in the book. I felt the emotion her characters felt. There were moments in Hardpressed I was thinking " Hardpressed [author: There were moments in Hardpressed I was thinking "What in the world is Erica thinking?!?!

I loved that the story flowed so well. I think this is why I loved these books even more than 50 shades and the Crossfire series. Which is key to any great story! I have nothing but great things to say about these two books! Thank you Meredith for an amazing story! I cannot emphasize how much I love this series. Blake has to be my favorite book boyfriend. I love how much he loves her and how he is always there when she needs him. I was very shocked and the turn this book took but very happy that it was not predictable. I can't wait for the next one. I have not enjoyed a book this much in a long time.

This book gave me server whiplash! I was certain that I had a particular event figured out! The author didn't have me fooled! I've read enough erotica that gives me a sense of how things were gonna play out! Oh how wrong I was! The cause of the event hit me like a slap in the face! Then little did I know only a page or two later the whiplash was back! Holy cow, did that just happen!? My heart was torn out- the blackmail- is their any way out?

I won't ruin it Hardpressed is phenomenal! I won't ruin it for you! You'll have to read for yourself! The sex, the dominance, the emotions are so intense! I like having the feeling that I'm not reading a book! It's better then watching a movie! I must say, that I'm disappointed that it's Erica that Blake is spanking and not me!

Totally infatuated with this authors writing skills! I can't wait til more books of hers are released! It would be a pleasure to read about a female character named Melissa! Oct 04, Jacqueline rated it really liked it. I've been totally immersed in this and now I'm suckered in for the long haul. This is the second in the series and wouldn't work as a standalone. Although it ends with closure of sorts, there's still masses of loose ends I'm left wondering about so now I'm committed for at least one more book and very possibly, the two after that as well Again the plot and writing style owes much t I've been totally immersed in this and now I'm suckered in for the long haul.

Again the plot and writing style owes much to the influence of Bared to You, but there were enough differences to make my reading experience feel fresh. Turns out Blake is also something of a kink meister so the smut was pretty intense too. A decent and polished series, worth reading I'd say. Jul 28, Suzana rated it it was amazing. Better than the first one It has it all Suspense Swoon worthy guy Hot hot sex. Aug 05, Cristina rated it it was amazing. I love this seriesss! But damn it, it was worth it! After reading Hardwired a few months ago, I eagerly anticipated reading Hardpressed to spend some more time with this fantastic story and characters.

I was not disappointed by this second installment to the Hacker Series. Hardpressed begins where Hardwired left off following Blake and Erica as they try their darnedest to make their relationship work. Both of these characters have complicated pasts that are still effecting them in the present, but come hell or high water they're making it work.

Ha After reading Hardwired a few months ago, I eagerly anticipated reading Hardpressed to spend some more time with this fantastic story and characters. Hardpressed shows the next chapter of their relationship as they come across challenges they didn't know were coming. How they face these challenges and hard choices makes for a book you will not be able to put down, until the very last word.

Hardpressed truly shows how the author was able to add a new, very engrossing chapter to Blake and Erica's story. The way these characters develop over the course of this book is simply well done, and will have you wanting to laugh, cry, scream, and smile many times. And there are many times were all of those will happen within pages, and you'll love it! Even when it makes you want to scream! Meredith Wild does a simply superb job of keeping the pace of the story going, while ensuring that you deeply care for the characters she's created.

Reading Blake and Erica's story in both Hardwired and Hardpressed is something you won't regret. These characters and this book will have you dying to read more. There is also a plethora of new characters in this story that you will love. Wild does a great job of creating and maintaining a cast of characters you'll truly fall in love with.

Start your countdown to the next book release in this series's, because the moment you finish Hardpressed you'll be eagerly anticipating what happens next.

I know I am! There are so many twist and turns that you never see coming. With each book it just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see what happens between Blake and Erica.

  • The Thin Red Line (The World War II Trilogy).
  • ?
  • Contes tendres et érotiques 4: Dix nouvelles amusantes et espiègles. Magique (French Edition).
  • Sarah Palin Out of Nowhere;
  • Youre Pregnant, Now What? The good, the bad, and the ugly of pregnancy and babys first year!
  • Can't wait to read 3!!!! Twists bad turns galore!!! Read it in just two sittings I had to sleep!! This was a ride.. I was pleasantly surprised by this story and how addicted I had gotten to it. While at the beginning I was still reading another book on the side ACOWAR which took up all my time at that point, when I thought that this book was just going to be some mainstream continuation for the series.

It actually turned out to be a really interesting story that got me really invested in the characters and rooting for Erica and Blake to be together forever. The last two days I was basically all up in this story and I really, really liked it cause it gave me drama, action, love and steamy scenes. Some of the drama was a bit predictable and also far-fetched so I have to admit that this wasn't a perfect book, but I enjoyed it nonetheless and in comparison to some other second installments in series' this was a pretty good second book for this series!

I had my doubts but I'm totally going to continue reading these books! Like with the previous book, hovering over a 3 to 3. I just didn't always agree with her choices or her actions and she seemed to only take one route when she probably could've had many options to choose Like with the previous book, hovering over a 3 to 3. I just didn't always agree with her choices or her actions and she seemed to only take one route when she probably could've had many options to choose from.

Plot was better here in which there was actually something solid to build up from.

I admit I was a bit anticipated and I kept on reading despite my annoyance and frustration. I'm also glad a lot of the topics from the first book were expanded more here and it focused on each scene one at a time without leaving unnecessary things hanging before moving to the next one. However, most of the plot was a bit predictable. I guess cause I've read enough books and fics who follow the same story line. With the last book, I kept wondering if it was previously a fic and now I was even more suspicious this time around. But when Mark dies He almost harasses Erica once again and then the next day, he's shot dead.

I think this should've been dragged out especially all that he has done and that death which we did not even see was just too easy for him. Erica deserved better, maybe Blake too. It just seemed too predictable until the tables turned last minute and I don't mean this in a plot twist sort of way Like I said, the most anticlimatic scene ever.

Nothing happened and Daniel suddenly changes his mind?? Someone as ruthless and sociopathic as him suddenly lets go THAT easily?? I held my balls for nothing?!?! Let's not forget about Blake. And he was such a stalker after the breakup: And at one point I was rooting for James and I actually liked him.

I fucking devoured this book! Review to come as part of the blog tour. I absolutely love this series! The writing is fantastic and the characters are amazing, especially Blake Morgan.

He is definitely book boyfriend material! Hardpressed starts off where Hardwired left off and it had me hooked from the very beginning. Erica is busy trying to get her business established while fighting off the hacker that keeps m I fucking devoured this book! Erica is busy trying to get her business established while fighting off the hacker that keeps messing with her site. She doesn't want Blake to interfere, she wants to be able to do things for herself.

    See a Problem?

This causes some conflict with their relationship. Add into the mix that Blake is a dominant male and can't do what he wants to Erica because of her past, leads to some very angsty moments. It shattered in little teeny tiny pieces! But don't worry folks, Meredith was able to put those tiny pieces back together by the end. Jun 29, Rachel rated it really liked it Shelves: Once again, shorty review and on to the next one. The heroine DOES kiss another man, but they are not together. Those of you who know me, know that that doesn't really matter to me. If kissing or intimacy takes place after the hero and heroine meet, I usually have a problem with it.

Don't know when the hero was last sexually involved with someone prior to meeting the heroine. Erica pushes Blake away to the point that she makes him think they are broken up to "protect" him. The whole thing was so ridiculous. I understood her point, but instead of the added angst and drama, why not just be honest with him and trust him to keep you AND himself safe? Everybody literally wants Erica, so I am trying to remember how many different guys come onto her in this installment, but there is one in particular, James that does become a problem.

He tries to convince her to give him a chance when he realizes that she isn't with Blake anymore. She is an idiot not to realize how his feelings ran for her. Even I could see it from a mile away. There are a couple intimate moments between Erica and James. Once they were at the beach and after playing in the ocean, ended up in a compromising position that thankfully didn't escalate.

But the thoughts she was having during that moment really upset me. She was basically saying how she was really attracted to James and she could feel a pull to him, but then she would say but it didn't matter because Blake is all she could think about and the only man she would ever love. Well, again, after Erica thinks Blake moved on during their weeks of separation, James is again trying to convince her to give him a chance and he ends up kissing her.

She does, in fact, kiss him back.

Hardpressed (Hacker, #2) by Meredith Wild

She even thinks if Blake can move on, then maybe so can I, but then right after that, her body that WAS warm from James turned cold and she realized again that she had to set the record straight with James that she couldn't be with him and she does. James is upset and hasn't really talked to her since.

Now, on to Blake. He didn't piss me off at all because I knew exactly what he was doing. He does pursue her, go after her, keep tabs on her, you name it to try to figure out what her deal was and how to get her back. Now, this ex of his, who he hasn't been with in years, Sophia. He ends up taking her with him to a galla or something that Erica happens to be at. No, he didn't know she would be there or he probably would have gone solo, but the only reason he invited Sophia was because she was a FRIEND and he needed a date and couldn't even think of another woman.

When he saw Erica's reaction to him being on the arm of Sophia, he DID let it play out, but it was because he was finally getting a reaction from her, even though it was through jealousy.
