For example, Jack and Owen's analyses of various "Scooby-Doo" plots Perhaps it's just me. What I also enjoyed in this as well as the first book in the series , was Ianto working down in the archives. Which, of course, is his job. But those who've seen the show know the subtext I'm talking about. One person found this helpful. I don't wish to give away anything but I will say that there is a lot of blood.
The novel is about alien techonolgy, diets and something eating the Weevils. On top of that Gwen wants to spice up her relationship with Rhys while he wishes to lose some weight. Things get weird, twisted and blood soaked. Faces eaten, eyeballs sucked out and flesh pulled off the bones. I love vampire stories and movies and I felt uneasy when reading some of the scenes in this book. Just don't eat anything while reading.
omyhukocow.tk: Slow Decay (Torchwood) (): Andy Lane: Books
I watched the series on DVD and enjoyed it. I like watching programs that deal with weird stuff. Slow Decay is a fantastic Torchwood novel. Andy Lane has developed a fascinating and rather gruesome story of our favourite Torchwood heroes. The characters are very well written So often I could vividly imagine each of the characters mannerisms and actions.
The conflicts and plot developments are engaging making Slow Decay a great read. The only real warning I could note is that there really are some quite grotesque moments- not for the faint of heart. Good story these torchwood stories get better and better with each book if your a torchwood fan then Enjoy!

No barrier of the senses shuts me out from the sweet, gracious discourses of my book friends. They talk to me without embarrassment or awkwardness. This Book is Currently in the Wild! OK so not a Dr Who book, but an affiliated series and I wondered if BookCrosser grubsneerg might be interested in this so picked it up for BookCrossing. Davies, follows a team who consistently delve into the unknown - a group of people fighting the impossible. Five teenagers have died in a fight, and lying among the bodies is an extra-terrestrial device.
Next morning, they discover the corpse of a Weevil, [creepy alien thingy, sorry cannot recall if they major nightmare creatures or innocuous beasties - see previous in series] its face and neck eaten away, seemingly by human teeth. And on the streets of Cardiff, an ordinary woman with an extraordinary hunger is attacking people and eating her victims. Surprising in one sense as I last viewed Torchwood at least years, and years ago. Then again the three of the characters had lovely distinctive welsh accents and in particular Gwen and Rhys representing a pivotal couple got a lot of air time.
An aspect of the plotlines in the Torchwood series I was uncomfortable about at the time was brought back to me in this book, that of the almost shoe-horning in of a sexual element to the tales. Into the post, to grubsneerg, using surface [slow mail] — cheers rainbow3.
It will be lovely to revisit Torchwood again. Thank you so much for sharing, rainbow3! This was a well written story, with seemingly unrelated plot lines coming together for a satisfying resolution.
