The motivation for us was Dr. We have been working our way through the menus. It has two weeks worth of menus already outlined for a healthy diet. Breakfast menus outlined consist of about 4 different meals with slight variations. They are okay, nothing spectacular, but reasonable in terms of time to fix and easy ingredients you might have at your house already. The lunch and dinner recipes take a lot more time than I normally spend and require things I did not normally cook with like capers and pine nuts, feta, goat and fresh parmesean cheese and Tahini. The recipes include lots of olive oil, garlic, onion and bell peppers of all colors.

We are working throught the recipes in the outlined lunch menus and started the dinner menus. It is a process that we are growing into and requires planning to have on hand the needed ingredients. I was totally overwhelmed at the grocery store the first time. I was rescued by a worker who knew where all the ingredients were. I am marking the recipes with ratings of 1 to 5 stars. Most of them have been fours.

Anything less than four I will not repeat. There have only been one or two. The book also has some dessert recipes which I have not had the time to make and many other reciipes besides the two week menu. I love the book when cooking. I feel a sense of accomplishment for working through the challenges, we are eating well, and almost all the recipes are delicious! Oh, and it takes time to eat it My husband is not a fan of healthy food but he likes the recipes and would dare not complain seeing all the work it is to make them. I believe in time it will get easier.

I am putting the recipe ingredients in an excel spread sheet to make life easier! You really have to make this a high priority to eat this way. Is it worth it the time and effort?
